The Sword-Shaped Rock Scenic Area consists ofGoose Lake, Suspended Springs, SwordRock, snow-covered Mountains and primeval forests. Sometimes you can see giant pandas. There is also the 17.8-kilometer Zechawa Ravine, the longest and highest in Jiuzhaigou.

Get to Jiuzhaigou by High-speed Train from Chengdu Currently, there are around 3 runs per day, and the traffic time only costs 1.5 hours. Besides train travel from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, there are two other ways for you to choose from: by flight (1 hour) or by long-distance bus (7-9 hours).

Located in Songpan County, Aba Sichuan Province, Huanglongjiuzhai Railway Station serves as the nearest station to both Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area and Huanglong Scenic Area.It is merely 85 km from the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area entrance gate, reachable within a 2-hour drive.

Stretching over 72,000 ha in the northern part of Sichuan Province, the jagged Jiuzhaigou valley reaches a height of more than 4,800 m, thus comprising a series of diverse forest ecosystems. Its superb landscapes are particularly interesting for their series of narrow conic karst land forms and spectacular waterfalls.

Jiuzhaigou National Park is located in southwestern China in the north part of the Sichuan Province. The park covers an area of 280 square miles (720 sq km). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a World Biosphere Reserve. The elevation varies from 6,600 to 14,800 feet (2,000 to 4,500 m).

1994: The Chinese government named Jiuzhai Valley a state level Forest and Wildlife Nature Reserve and state level Nature Reserve. 1998: Jiuzhai Valley National Park was issued with the Man and Biosphere credential by UNESCO. 2002: Jiuzhai Valley National Park passed the authentication of the Green Globe 21.

Jiuzhaigou Valley (Simplified Chinese: 九寨沟; Traditional Chinese: 九寨溝; pinyin: Jiǔzhàigōu; lit. "Valley of Nine Villages;" Tibetan: Sicadêgu) designates a nature reserve in the northern Sichuan province of China.
