1. Peng Xuefeng's Residence
Peng Xuefeng, also known as Peng Maozhao, was born in Tianjin in 1900 and was a famous Chinese film director and actor. He joined the Tianma Film Company in Shanghai in 1922, starting his career in the film industry and becoming a representative figure of the first generation of Chinese film directors. Peng Xuefeng's residence is a three-story Western-style building, built in 1927, with the current address being No. 49 Wudadao. Peng Xuefeng spent nearly 14 years here, and it was also where he created China's first sound film.
2. Zhang Xueliang's Residence
Zhang Xueliang, also known as Zhang Zhenduan, was born in Huinan, Liaoning Province, in 1898, and was a highly controversial military figure in history. He served in the Northeast Army and was later hailed as the "Northeast King," ruling the Northeast region. Zhang Xueliang's residence is a three-story stone-gate Western-style building located at No. 9 Wudadao, built in 1923. It is the largest private residence in Wudadao. The house has now become part of the Tianjin Folk Museum, showcasing the historical appearance of the time.
3. Mikhail Borodin's Residence
Mikhail Borodin, a Russian revolutionary, socialist, Marxist, Leninist, and Bolshevik, was one of the leaders of the October Revolution in Russia. Due to his support for the struggles of the Chinese people, he was beloved by the Chinese people. Borodin's residence is a three-story Western-style building, built in 1924, located at No. 56 Wudadao. It is now used as the Tianjin Cultural and Art Exchange Center. The house contains many of Borodin's personal belongings, including books, furniture, and lamps.
4. Yang Xingren's Residence
Yang Xingren, also known as Lu Shang, was a famous architect, scholar, and educator in the history of Chinese architecture. He founded China's earliest architectural program and made outstanding contributions to the development of modern Chinese architecture. Yang Xingren's residence is located at the intersection of Wudadao and Huan Cheng Road, built in 1924, and is a typical English-style residence. Its unique architectural structure not only reflects the characteristics of British residences but also showcases Yang Xingren's unique talent in creative design.
5. Luo Shuzhong's Residence
Luo Shuzhong, also known as Jiye, was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in 1898 and was hailed as one of the greatest Chinese painters. His representative works include "Shepherd God" and "Su Shi and Wen Tongqing," making him a well-known Chinese painter. Luo Shuzhong's residence is located at No. 22 Wudadao, built in 1921, and is a Tianjin municipal-level cultural relic protection unit. The house is divided into two parts: the front area serves as a reception area, while the back area is the family residence of Luo Shuzhong. It houses a large collection of Luo Shuzhong's works, cultural relics, and personal items.
